Medication Aide Continuing Education Course
This course is for Certified Medication Aides seeking to meet the yearly requirements of continuing education as mandated by the Tennessee Board of Nursing. To enroll in this course, you must be a Certified Medication Aide in the state of Tennessee.
This course is divided into two sessions. Session one, Pharmacology for Certified Medication Aides is a 5-hour course that focuses on the topic of pharmacology, medication safety, and drug interactions. This course is taught by a registered nurse or pharmacist. Session two, Medication Aide Refresher Course is a course that focuses on medication aides in a healthcare setting, communication, documentation, and infection control. Upon completion of the course, the student will receive a certificate of completion that meets the state requirements of medication aide for continuing education. You may register for one or both sessions.

The Mason Center for Healthcare Education requires all candidates applying to a program to provide evidence of high school completion or equivalent via HS transcripts, HS diploma, or GED examination score report directly from the granting source. Official electronic transcripts can be directed to [email protected] and official paper transcripts can be delivered to: 120 Marketplace Blvd., Suite H, Knoxville TN 37922 either in person or via mail.
Once all application materials have been received and are confirmed to meet admission criteria, acceptance is communicated via email within two business days. This acceptance communication includes an invitation to schedule an appointment to come to the facility and accept enrollment via completion of an Enrollment Agreement, as well as to undergo a preliminary drug screen and pay program tuition.
